The dreamy pink hues of the Malaya Garnet were not discovered until the 1960s. They are one of the rarest most interesting hybrid varieties of garnets. Garnets come in all sorts of mixtures and colors, but for the Malaya Garnet, it's a special rare hybrid that occurs when there is a chemical composition between pyrope, almandine, grossular and andradite. The amounts of each one create a unique Garnet with special traits and hues. The rarest malaya colors include honey-peach, cinnamon, pinkish-orange and near-colorless. Most common malaya garnet inclusions are small needle-like clusters.
